Evolving the AYC Fall Regatta
The American Yacht Club Fall Regatta is almost upon us, with two great weekends of racing planned for September 27 and 28 and October 4 and 5. This year, AYC is evolving the format based on feedback from sailors.
The opening weekend, Sept 27 & 28, will consist of two separate AYC Fall Regatta coastal races which will be scored and awarded separately at the end of each day. This will be for PHRF and ORC classes and include Doublehanded, Non-Spinnaker, and One Design.
The closing weekend, Oct 4 & 5, will consist of the AYC Fall Series which will offer two racing formats: (1) Windward/Leeward racing for PHRF, ORC, and One Design, and (2) coastal racing for PHRF and ORC including Doublehanded, Non-Spinnaker, and One Design.
Sailors can choose to race one or both weekends.
American Yacht Club will be hosting post racing parties at the Clubhouse & Lawn following racing each day. There will be the classic complimentary Fall Regatta food and drinks along with live entertainment every night for participants along with family & friends.
The Fall Regatta is always a late-season highlight for big boat racing and this year will be no different.
